If you’re wandering the lively streets of Shibuya, make sure to step down into the hidden gem that is Bombay Bazar, casually nestled beneath the bustling road, away from the frenetic energy above. This cafe is more than just a place to grab a bite; it's a delightful retreat that offers a cozy sanctuary for friends, couples, or anyone in need of a delicious escape.

Bombay Bazar is renowned for its fantastic array of curry dishes and healthy options, catering to various palates. Picture yourself sinking into a soft chair, surrounded by quirky decor that gives this basement cafe a charming and intimate feel. The aroma of rich spices fills the air as each dish is prepared with care. One standout is the vegetarian curry, praised as "out of this world," showcasing an array of flavors that burst in your mouth with every spoonful. Pair it with the highly recommended feta cheese and tomato salad that diners rave about for its refreshing taste, and you’ve got a meal that pleases both your palate and your pocket—most dishes hover around ¥900!

The atmosphere here is incredibly inviting—relaxed and filled with the sounds of soft music that enhances the overall experience. Customers have noted the staff's friendliness and attentiveness, making it a very comfortable place to linger for coffee or a dessert. In fact, as one reviewer highlighted, the delightful ambience makes it ideal for a leisurely lunch or a cozy date night with plenty of time to chat and unwind.

However, don’t be surprised if your wait time stretches a little during peak hours. While the cafe gets busier, it speaks volumes to the quality and popularity of the food. After all, good things come to those who wait! Nevertheless, even during busy times, the overall experience—from the ambiance to the food—continues to maintain its appealing charm.

So whether you’re a local looking for a new favorite spot or a traveler wanting to dive into the sweet and savory world of Indian-inspired food amidst Tokyo’s dynamic atmosphere, Bombay Bazar is the cozy café that promises much more than just a meal; it offers you a delightful memory waiting to happen.

Nice and tasty lunch menu for around ¥900 with salada and drink. Relaxing atmosphere, cozy, ideal for couples, small group of friends to chill out, have a break over coffee, sweets and delicious dishes. Nice music and staffs. Wish the toilet had sign to show it’s in use.

Hidden in the basement this restaurant provides a variety of curry dishes and healthy options as well. Without any snobbish decorations the atmosphere is relaxed and very comfortable. The plus: lunch time is until 5 pm.

Very charming place, great ambience. Good is good value for money. Waiting time might be a bit longer when the restaurant is full.

Oh my God the best food I've had in Japan so far, the only remark is I was seated at a ... Child's table I think, with children sized chairs, it was a bit uncomfortable but the food made up for it. Try the feta cheese and tomato salad, it's amazing. Also the vegetarian curry is out of this world .

This is a quirky restaurant and cafe, located on level B1. Lots of interesting stuff to see in the restaurant, and good food options as well as coffee. We didn’t try the food but reading the reviews it seems the food is quite good. We stopped by for coffee and while we enjoyed the interior of the restaurant it took way too long to make three cups of coffee. We waited more than twenty minutes, and that is excessive by any standard. The coffee was fine but not worth the wait.

Very quirky cafe under the okura building, which looks like it came out of a studio ghilbi movie. The drinks were delicious, the ambience though was the highlight. It looked both rusticnand hip.

A lovely discovery by chance during a walkabout the Daikanyama area ... and absolutely a fantastic curry place. Rustic and unassuming, this is a hidden underground restaurant that is one to check out. Curry portion is hearty and you need all the energy to walk around Tokyo.
